have had a new tattoo on lower part of back been a week now and its still sore,not red ,thick scabs tho,felt like he dug deep while tattooing,got other tattoos wernt sore at this stage is this normal its not infected,and in using savlon on it a recommended,some people said it prob hurts more as we have a large musclee there,any advice would be appreciatedd.New tattoo advice best thin to use?
Try using bepanthen
it's a nappy rash cream, but works wonders for tattoos.
It soothes the skin and doesn't result in thick horrible scabs.
I've used it on a big back piece and it healed beautifully within two weeks!
I'd also suggest washing your tattoo with an antibacterial wash, just to make sure it isn't infected.

My daughter had a tattoo years back an had the same problem.Go to the Drug store and get Neosporin First Aid Triple Antibiotic ointment Original Strength is the best one clean the area whit antibacterial soap and apply this antibiotic do this 4 times a day and in 3 to 7 days you will have your tattoo healed. I use this for my daughter and really did the job.
Try neosporion 2x daily
